Carnosine
The Smart Ingredient for Youthful Skin

Carnosine is a naturally occurring dipeptide composed of the amino acids L-histidine and beta-alanine. It protects the skin from oxidative stress, slows down the aging process, and supports natural cell regeneration.
As we age, the body’s natural levels of carnosine decline. That’s where modern skincare steps in: In cosmetic formulations, carnosine helps stimulate cell division, improve skin structure, and extend the lifespan of skin cells. It offers antioxidant protection, anti-glycation effects, and promotes cellular longevity – for visibly fresher, firmer skin.
Thanks to its high efficacy at low concentrations and excellent skin compatibility, carnosine is a valuable component in advanced anti-aging products.

Cosmetic benefits
- Carnosine, β-alanyl-L-histidine, is a water-soluble biologically dipeptide composed of two amino acids β-alanine and L-histidine
- captures oxidative free radicals and effectively prevents the oxidation of fat (inhibits the generation of unsaturated aldehydes)
- has a synergistic antioxidant effect with vitamin E
- has an anti-glycation effect and prevents the formation of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs), this glycation damages the tissue fibers and is an important factor in skin aging
- inhibits lipid oxidation catalyzed by metal ions, hemoglobin, lipase and active oxygen, replacing traditional BHA and TBHQ antioxidants
- inhibits the activity of tyrosinase and brightens the skin
- shows extremely high thermal stability, at 120 °C for 20 minutes
- COSMOS approved
